Static Guarding

We provide many aspects of Security Services within the Industry inclusive of Static Guarding. The roles of Static Security Officer’s vary considerably dependent upon the requirements of the client. From corporate static guarding, front of house/concierge and reception services, post room and porterage services, CCTV control room and operation and customer service roles. We also have the experience in maintaining teams of fully trained support officers for the provision of add-hoc manpower or services as required.

We operate a check call system, whereby Security Officer’s communicate with our 24 Communications Control Centre upon arrival at site. Punctuality is imperative and therefore dependent upon location of site, residence of Security Personnel, time of shift, all Static Officer’s can use the Company’s ‘pick up’ and ‘drop-off’ service whereby Security Personnel which do not hold a valid UK Drivers Licence are transported to their place of work via company vehicles consequently avoiding any public holidays or public transport strikes at any time of the year.

The Security Officer will book-on for their shift using the site telephone and log their details in the Assignment Logbook which is provided on site as this is absolute confirmation of the Security Officer’s presence and to also arrive on site a minimum of 10 minutes prior to the commencement time of their shift. Consequently, our 24 Communications Control Centre will make hourly check calls dependent upon shift pattern to the site telephone to ensure the Security Officer is at designated location and also to comply with Health and Safety legislation as regards to the safety of Security Officer’s at Work. Site telephones are used due to failures in the past by many organisations adapting alternative methods of communication. The most common reasons Static Security Officer’s will put forward are;

  • Mobile phone issued is not giving any reception at site to make/receive a check call
  • Mobile phone has a flat battery and cannot make/receive a check call
  • Mobile phone has been misplaced/stolen so cannot make/receive a check call
  • Mobile phone has no accessories, most commonly, mains charger so cannot make/receive a check call

At MZ Security Services, it is our policy to maintain communication at all times. Flexibility is paramount and must be adapted within a service where communication is imperative to minimise the level of risk. Where there is no land line telephone connection at the premises, e.g. construction sites and communication methods are limited; mobile phones are issued to Static Security Officer’s. However, all inventory must be recorded (Shift Handover Record) and relevant documents are placed on site for the sole use of Static Security Officers.

A site survey will be undertaken irrespective of the Security Services provided so therefore at the request of the client, Diester Checkpoints may also be placed at agreed locations dependent upon the size and vulnerability of the site. The Security Officer may conduct an external foot patrol throughout their shift at regular intervals. An electronic printout (Customer Report) is forwarded to the client on a regular monthly basis.
